Chocolate Frosting with Chocolate Chips Tips

Can you use other kinds of chocolate chips to make chocolate frosting with chocolate chips?

Definitely! This recipe calls for milk or semisweet chocolate chips, but you can also use white, dark or bittersweet chips.

What kinds of desserts can you frost with chocolate frosting with chocolate chips?

This frosting is ideal for spreading on cakes, cupcakes and brownies, but not cookies since the frosting is thick. Royal icing is a much better option for cookies.

Yes! This recipe instructs to store the chocolate frosting in the fridge until thick enough to pipe or spread, so feel free to make it ahead and store it until you’re ready to frost your dessert.
